This is a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) course and is well recognised within the 'Care' industry.
The National Vocational Qualifications are competence based and therefore differ from traditional examination.
NVQ Courses are based on Competence and to obtain the complete qualification for any particular level, you will be required to complete compulsory and optional units and be competent in performng your practical 'care' duties within the NVQ framework and knowledge specifications of the units.

• various methods are used to assess competence
• there are no 'closed book' examinations
• they take account of previous experience
• they allow the individual to work and achieve at their own pace
Students studying NVQ Health and Social Care at Tudor College will have the opportunity to study English for Medical Communication as well as General English.
The duration of this combined course is 12 months per level, 15 hours per week.

Level 2
Basic English and Maths
Level 3
NVQ Level 2 or
''O' Levels Basic English and Maths
Must be 17 years and above.
NVQ Level 3 is equivalent to 'A' level and students can progress to study 'Nursing' course .
