About the Program
The Introductory Certificate is suitable for Student Members who are at the beginning of their careers. Candidates do not necessarily have to have experience of working in the industry at the outset of the course but, if they do not have this experience, students are expected to be working in the industry on a part-time basis during the course. The Introductory Certificate course allows candidates to acquire useful basic knowlege as a preparation for a career in the industry.
You must be 18 years or older at the beginning of the course.
Marks allocated:
60% Project, 30% On-line examination, 10% Attendance
Project
The project will cover a practical working situation in travel, tourism or hospitality. Students are expected to undertake some research and to draw on their current work experience.
Your training centre will assist you in choosing and defining your topic so that it covers areas of the OTHM Introductory Certificate syllabus. Assessment of the Introductory Certificate Project.
On-Line Exam
30 questions multiple choice to be completed in 1 hour at an OTHM Approved On-Line Examination Centre
Pass Mark
Candidates should attain at least 50% in both the Project and On-Line Examination to gain the Introductory Certificate
Progression
On passing the OTHM Introductory Certificate Members will be eligible to be considered for OTHM Certificate course.
